Gardener of the Month - Featuring Dimitris from Greece

Gardener of the Month - Featuring Dimitris from Greece

Meet Dimitris, our gardener of the month from Greece. He shared some thoughts with us about why he’s enjoying gardening so much.

What does gardening mean to you and what role does it play in your life?

I like the idea of having greens and herbs inside my kitchen! I really enjoy watching plants grow day by day. It’s very satisfying and I stay a little connected to nature!

When did you start growing with us and what’s been the highlight of your indoor gardening journey?

I started using the Smart Garden 3 about 3 months ago and I grew basil at the beginning. When basil finished growing, I transplanted it and started wild strawberries. Strawberries are now at day 67 and flowers are starting to pop up! I’ve been harvesting strawberry leaves 2-3 times a week to make tea. It's delicious! So, my highlight until today is harvesting strawberry leaves!

Which plants do you enjoy growing the most and why?

As a new gardener, I haven’t grown lots of plants yet. So far I’ve grown and harvested basil and strawberries. I like herbs a lot for tea, and I can't wait to grow tomatoes! Now I grow green lettuce in my Smart Garden 9.

What advice would you give new growers?

My top advice for new growers is: love your plants, love your Click and Grow system, and keep harvesting!

Many thanks, Dimitris, for sharing your experiences with us.

Stay tuned - next month we'll be featuring another gardener chosen by our Facebook community!
